I’m blueteak, here and on A03, and I'm so glad we share an interest in Pennyroyal Green--Julie Anne Long, Henry Henry, Allen Bratton, or Slough House--Mick Herron. I enjoy everything from character studies to case fic, pre- and post-canon fic, and missing scenes, and I would love a fic of any rating, from G to NC-17. For more specific likes as well as completely optional prompts for each canon, please see below. I'm very willing to receive treats, too!

General Likes:

--Hurt/comfort, especially the kind where the one who caused the hurt offers the comfort

--Undercover identities and the questions they create about who someone really is--and who they can be under the right circumstances

--Stories that explore how characters conceive of themselves vs. how others see them

--Relationships that are forbidden (boss/employee/coworker to "we shouldn't do this because of x") and the push/pull they create in various ways.

--Loyalty, even if it's offered through gritted teeth

A Few Sexual Things I Like in Fic:

-- Rough Sex that turns tender (or not!)

--Hair pulling

-- Hair stroking

--Bathing or washing

-- Spanking (I like this as play punishment, as just enjoying impact play with or without sex, or as punishment, also with or without sex)

AUs (though canon divergences are welcome, as are any AUs prompted specifically in their respective fandom sections), crossovers, under-18 sex. Pennyroyal Green--Julie Anne Long, Colin Eversea

I love this series to bits and always want to know more about what's going on with Colin! This section of the letter might be shorter than the others, but please don't take that as a lack of enthusiasm--I nominated this series and would love fic focusing on this world. I ship Colin/Madeline but am also happy with gen and love everyone in the series--all characters welcome!

Possible prompts, if you'd like them:

--Colin pre-series encountering Isaiah while he's with Isolde.
--Colin discussing his parentage with his mother
--Colin and Madeline's life as the series continues
--Colin's thoughts about some of the events in the other books in the series
--Canon divergence where Isaiah finds out about Colin earlier.

Henry Henry--Allen Bratton, Hal Lancaster

I'm still very much in the keysmash appreciation stage of talking about this book, so apologies if this section is not terribly long or terribly coherent, but all I can really say right now is that I would like more Hal Lancaster.I ship Hal/Percy and like the idea of Hal/Richard in a canon divergence where Hal's with Richard as an adult, but also happy with gen!

Some possible prompts, if you'd like them:

--Percy accompanying Hal to Mass one day

--Hal and Percy post-canon. What happens with them? Does Percy find out what had been happening with Henry?

--Pre-canon, more encounters between Hal and Richard.

--Canon divergence where Richard is still alive during the first part of Henry Henry

--Post-canon, Hal and Henry's relationship

--Post-canon Hal and Philippa

--Anything about Hal and any of his siblings at any point

Slough House--Mick Herron, River Cartwright, Jackson Lamb

I've been intrigued by River and Lamb's dynamic since the start of the series. They start out with Lamb being fairly dismissive of River and River not necessarily feeling like he should listen to/respect Lamb and then get to a point where...Lamb still refers to River as useless, but is protective of him/covers for him and River starts to think a bit before doing things like running off to try to save the day without telling anyone, which he did early in the series. I love this from Real Tigers, when River takes off to try to rescue someone on his own:

"As for Lamb, he’d hang River out to dry if he took another step without putting him in the picture. That was something to think about, so River thought about it as he stuffed the phone away and took the rest of the stairs three at a time.”

But Lamb *doesn't* hang River out to dry, here or ever, and does everything from rescuing River from a hospital when he's covered in blood and locked in a supply closet to covering for him when he stages his own death to try and protect his grandfather, who had been one of the most powerful people in MI5.

I also love how the series has outsiders think of Lamb and River, from Molly Duran, who knew Lamb when he ran undercover operations in Berlin during the Cold War and calls River "one of Jackson's cubs" to Emma Flyte, who calls River Lamb's "mini-me" and says that River has "picked up [Lamb's] twisted habit of thinking."

One of my favorite things is that the only things we really know for sure about Lamb is that he's always been fiercely protective of his team and no one knows how much else is an act.

I've finished Clown Town and enjoy everyone in this whole series, so please include anyone you'd like in addition to River and Lamb. In terms of shipping, I do ship River/Lamb, but also River/Louisa and River/Sid and River/Duffyand would also be excited to receive gen!

Some prompts, if you'd like them:

--River and Lamb on a mission together. Does River learn anything about Lamb he didn't know before? Does this change his opinion of him at all, or is he surprised to learn his opinion of him hasn't changed so much with the new info.? Does Lamb have to save River, or save him at the expense of one of the other Slow Horses? Or does River save Lamb?

--Canon divergence where it emerges that River is actually Lamb's son. Is this something River's grandfather knew that River and Lamb didn't? Or something Lamb knows and River doesn't? Or do they both find out at the same time?

--Anything where Lamb has to patch River up. There's so much amazing River whump, from the going over he gets from MI5 for trying to get a restricted file to being tossed into the Thames by his father. Would love Lamb having to patch him up physically, emotionally, or both--especially if Lamb was the one to have to give him a going over. Anything about Lamb helping him recover after Slough House would also be great.

--What if River ends up leaving the Slough House team and winds up with the CIA? Would Lamb still basically consider him one of his own? Or would he be working for Lamb inside the CIA?

Smuttier prompts

--Would love a fake relationship (due to undercover? To annoy Diana Taverner?) here!

--Also anything involving surprise "Thank God We're Alive!" sex. Does this happen once, never to be spoken of again even though it's done again to the point it becomes a habit? Do they ever end up talking about it? Does anyone figure it out?

--Lamb talks about punishing River at one point and reaches for a ruler (but uses it to scratch his foot..and River's not actually physically present at the time). Would love to see him actually spanking River, maybe in a universe where workplace discipline like this is okay? Would he be fairly harsh about it but then offer his own special Lamb brand of comfort after? Or would this happen as part of role play, the undercover kind or the bedroom kind?

While The Dublin Murder Squad Series--Tana French, Backdraft (1991) and Ysabel--Guy Gavriel Kay do happen to be my yuletide requests this year, this isn't (just) a shameless fic-begging post. Even if you're not looking to get sucked into a fandom, let alone writing fic for it, I would like to dissect these books/movie with you if you decide to read or view them.

I shared canon info. on these sources at the yuletide "explain your rare fandom" post here and here, but thought I'd link them here as well, since I could see those of you who like LoM/A2A getting really into characters like Cassie Maddox and Frank Mackey, who have both worked undercover and have a fraught but affectionate relationship. And if you're looking for a good firefighting movie with a Baldwin or Kurt Russell, I can tell you why to pick this one. And hey, everyone needs a centuries old love triangle fantasy novel in their lives too, right?

Queer as Folk Clips and Vids: Promoting and Nostalgia

Queer as Folk has eaten my brain again. And it's not just the Brian/Justin tender, occasionally kinky, goofy, mutually protective, and hot in any mood vibe that I enjoy. I like watching Brian, Emmett, Michael and Ted interacting. I love the family dinners at Deb's and Vic's interactions with Justin. I was interested in what happened when all of the characters grew older--what changed, what didn't, and how they dealt with what was expected of them vs. negotiating how they actually wanted to live and work.
